The design for the 'Bat(hu)man Connectunnel' was created for a student competition that envisaged the conversion of the former Devínska Kobyla missile base with a focus on nature conservation. As the former bunkers are used by bats for hibernation and roosting, the idea was to create a space to meet these creatures. Three layers of foil in the colours cyan, magenta and yellow form a structure that appears black for the most part due to the colour overlay in order to prevent light from entering and to ensure that the bats can sleep undisturbed. In the rear part of the structure, the structure appears red towards the ceiling, as red light is least disturbing for bats and they are therefore visible to visitors.
